Following her breath-taking look at the 2024 BAFTAs on Sunday, Carey Mulligan was back on the red carpet for the ‘Spaceman’ Berlin Film Festival premiere this evening.
The M.O. for awards season has been black, or black-and-white gowns, so to give this film its own distinction, Carey wore a black and nude dress from the Schiaparelli Spring 2024 Haute Couture collection.
Just because this dress has a minimalist design, it doesn’t mean it won’t turn heads – after all, it’s flattering figure-hugging silhouette in supple black velvet with a cascading nude jersey drape from the back to the bottom of the dress is bound to impress.
There has been plenty of chatter about Carey’s makeup, or lack thereof, but I’m sure you will agree that the neutral tones complemented her dress.
Kwiat and Fred Leighton Jewels provided the finishing touch.
You’ll be happy to see that no toe enamel pumps were used to style this look.
For the photocall, Carey may have been in signature all black, but the style took me by surprise.
Carey isn’t one for bold statement silhouettes, and they don’t come much bolder than the pointy Pagoda shoulder.
Since both Balmain and Balenciaga have created blazers with Pagoda shoulders, I’m not 100% sure who this particular style belongs too, but it is a style that she wears with confidence.
Hopefully her stylist shares the details soon.
The last celebrity we saw rock the Pagoda shoulders was Cate Blanchett.
