Comfort Sandals

Vionic Merlot Sandal (7.5)

I always get requests for comfort sandals, so I ordered a few to try before I injured my ankle. Either it was fortuitous, or I jinxed myself… I’m not sure which, but at least I have these waiting in the wings for whenever I can start wearing regular shoes again.

STYLE TIP: When looking for comfort sandals that aren’t frumpy, you generally want thinner straps and/or less foot coverage. Of course, wider straps and more foot coverage provide more stability, so you have to find a happy medium that works for you and your brand of finicky feet. Another tip for fighting the frump factor with your footwear is to wear colors that are close to your skin tone.

The pair I’m wearing above is by Vionic, and they actually have arch support! Plus, the straps are super soft and comfortable. I’m also a big fan of Birkenstocks, especially the Madrid Slide. Sorel and Kork-Ease also do good comfort sandals. I rounded up those and more of my top picks below, and there are some narrow and wide widths in here too!
