“Adding my story truly changed my life. I’m a 200+ pound girl, OK? And I was doing 90 minutes by myself, eight shows a week. And audiences were coming in droves, sold out, night after night,” Pinnock told Essence about the one-woman show she put on when she first moved to LA. “I realized people actually do need this representation. It’s actually really important. And I can’t be worried about how I’m going to look on TV. I just gotta do me.”
